There are two types of carbohydrates, simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates in foods such as fruit sugar, corn or table sugar and glucose. They are the one-sugar molecule. A Personal Experience
I am a type 2 diabetes, and at this time, I my blood sugars through diet and tablets. Control blood sugar for diabetes is very important - it is the only way to minimising the future health complications, heart disease, neuropathy, so amputations, kidney disease and early death.
Four years ago my A1C level of sugar that started out from the control - they are not massively high, but creeping up. My doctor increased my medication - with satisfactory results have not, my blood sugars are all over the place, I can read from a high in the night and woken by hypoglaecemic (low blood sugar) at the beginning of the month.
Then I and the Atkins diet, because I want to lose weight, I began to follow a low carbohydrate, high protein menu.
That's when I find a really complex relationship between carbohydrate, high blood sugars and diabetes. Suddenly my blood sugars stable, and therefore I no longer piling a large amount of carbohydrate, which is pushing me away blood sugars are too high.
This seems to fly in the face of conventional advice on the right diets - rich in complex carbohydrates - to diabetes. You see, I understand I have to avoid sweet, sugary foods - this is a simple carbohydrate. I did not realize that the more complex carbohydrate bread, potatoes and cereals affected my blood sugars as well.
But (there is always a 'but' does not exist?) The Atkins diet does not really suit me. I must stress that the constant diarrhea and debilitating. So I have not come that diet and after 3-4 months, of course, I started blood sugars out of control again.
But now I know about the connection, all I needed to do is find the right program for me to follow a low-carbohydrate principles.
And recently only, during the research for diabetes website, I found a program that is suitable for me, and I describe in more detail on my website for diabetics.
My advice to pre-diabetes and diabetes, do your research! Understanding the close relationship between the complex carbohydrates that you eat, how they affect blood sugars, and how he can make it difficult to control your diabetes. Once you understand that link, or search for food systems that can adapt to safely bring your blood sugars back under control.
Remember, too much carbohydrate (simple or complex) provides a high level of blood sugar and if you have diabetes means your body can not cope with the additional advantages.
